Modestalk.UK was created from a simple realisation that modest fashion in London does not yet reflect the richness, craftsmanship, and beauty found every day in Indonesia. The launch campaign, Across Cities With Modesty, follows two young women whose experiences sit on opposite sides of this gap.
One is Fathia from Jakarta, who grew up surrounded by shopping centres where modest fashion is everywhere and choosing what to wear feels natural and intuitive. With aunties, cousins, and friends who wear the hijab, finding pieces that reflected her identity was never a challenge. In Indonesia, modest fashion is woven into daily life, and Fathia carries that sense of ease in everything she wears.
The other is Fiona from East London, who has built her wardrobe with intention and persistence. In London, modest fashion often requires piecing together outfits from high street stores, hoping hems are long enough and cuts remain appropriate. She stands out in spaces where few others wear hijab, yet her style remains a constant, a quiet statement of pride and self-assurance, even when the city offers limited support.
These two experiences form the foundation of Modestalk, grounded in the belief that modesty should never feel inaccessible or out of place.

The collections introduced to the UK feature Indonesian labels that have long shaped the country’s position as a global centre for modest fashion. Brands including Nueta, THENBLANK, Hameeda, Leu, Lafiyee, and many more appear throughout the final campaign looks. These are brands that define everyday wardrobes in Indonesia, offering refined silhouettes, flowing abayas, structured co-ord sets, and thoughtfully designed hijabs that feel both contemporary and timeless.
Modestalk.UK exists to create a space where modern Muslim women in Britain can access the quality, craftsmanship, and variety that have long been commonplace in Indonesia. It serves as a bridge between cities and cultures, while reinforcing that modest fashion can be both expressive and effortless.
Whether home feels closer to Jakarta or London, the intention remains the same: to build a wardrobe that feels considered, familiar, and beautifully made.
